2010 Philoptochos Spring Events

We’ve been busy planning more fellowship for our community of women. Please, join us.

Saturday March 6: A Lenten event for everyone in our community. We’ll help an amazing group called ‘Little Dresses for Africa’. We’ll work together to make dresses for young girls in Africa from pillowcases. It sounds odd, but when you see them you’ll understand! There’s a display in the foyer at church. We’ll need many hands. No sewing skills required. We’ll need cutters, pressers, designers, elastic threaders and cheerleaders! Bring a friend. We’ll need new pillowcases, ribbons, elastic, bias tape and embellishments! Bring what you can. We’ll start at 10:00 AM. There will be a Lenten lunch, too.

Thursday March 18: Philoptochos Meeting. We’ll meet at 7 PM in the AHEPA Room at Holy Trinity. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Mary Leslie, owner of Rosemary Leslie Cosmetics. We’ll have a brief meeting and ample time to visit together with great treats.

Wednesday March 31: Philoptochos Charity request forms are due. Holy Trinity parishioners have been directed to turn forms in to any member. Please, pass them to Lexie Gray.

Thursday April 15:  Philoptochos Meeting. We’ll meet at 7 PM in the AHEPA Room. Our guest speaker will be Irene Franowicz, dietician and food maven. She’ll speak to us about healthy yet delicious eating for woman. We’ll have a brief meeting and ample time to visit together with great treats. On the meeting agenda will be how much of our Bake Sale and Luncheon proceeds we will give to charity.

Thursday May 13: Philoptochos Meeting. We’ll meet at 6 PM for a potluck dinner to celebrate motherhood. We will have a brief meeting where our charities committee will present their charitable giving recommendations for the 2009 Bake Sale and Luncheon proceeds.

Please, join us. We are coming together as friends to support our church community and each other.
